Prince Edward Island Real Estate Association (PEIREA) is a Nonprofit Professional Association that works under the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) to provide services to its members and to promote the Real Estate Profession across Prince Edward Island. PEIREA also provides Continuing Education, MLS® Services, professional resources, technology and more. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors which consists of eleven REALTORS® and the Association’s Executive Officer. The PEIREA office is located at 75 St. Peters Road in Charlottetown, PE.
REALTORS® are licensed to trade Real Estate in their jurisdiction and are also withheld to additional Continuing Education and Professional Standards helping to protect all parties involved and ensure professionalism throughout the entire process.
The Real Estate Career Prep Course is an Online pre-requisite course to be completed prior to registration of the Pre-Licensing Course. The course is designed to set expectations for individuals signing up for a career in a licensed real estate profession. All prospective students are required to complete the course through Holland College's Online learning portal to explore a career in real estate before committing to the Pre-Licensing Course as there are no refunds after registration. Certificates of completion are valid for 1 year and are required for successful registration of the Pre-Licensing Course.
The Pre-Licensing Course is also delivered through Holland College using a blended learning method of in class and online lessons. Students are expected to attend all in-class lessons and complete all Online lessons to be eligible to write the final exam. Students are expected to complete a final exam with a pass mark of 75%. If you are a licensed Salesperson/Broker in another province than you must complete our Non-Resident package in order to obtain your license on Prince Edward Island. This package is a take-home manual with a set of quizzes to be completed. The cost is $1,200.00 + HST and payment can only be made by cheque or money order. There are additional requirements needed to meet before getting your license in PEI, includes:
- Age of majority (18 years of age)
- Canadian Citizen/ Permanent Resident Status
- Good ethical and financial sense
- Sponsorship/employment with local Brokerage
