Real Estate Career in ONTARIO

Starting the year 2020, Humber College is now the new provider of the Real Estate Salesperson Program in Ontario. The new cutting-edge program delivered on behalf of the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) has now started. The program is flexible and will be offered online and in locations across Ontario. You can apply and start your coursework at any point during the year, without the time commitment of a full-time, semester-based program. For a complete overview of the course, Click Here.

The Pre-Registration Learning Path outlines the first phase of the Real Estate Council of Ontario’s (RECO) Real Estate Education Programs. Learners must complete this first phase before applying for registration with RECO. Get started here with the pre-registration phase and complete the courses, exams and simulation sessions sequentially as shown below. You will have a maximum of 24 months to complete pre-registration.

Through an immersive structure that follows the flow of a real estate transaction, courses lay out the fundamentals of the profession and applicable legislative rules and obligations. Mandatory in-person exams and simulation sessions give learners an opportunity to show that they have an understanding of theory and can apply practical skills before advancing to the next course.

Admission Requirements

Before applying, applicants should understand and meet the admission requirements.

The Real Estate Education Programs’ components and support services are delivered in English. Learners should possess strong English writing, comprehension and speaking skills in order to be able to successfully complete the program(s). Learners are asked to assert they meet the English proficiency requirement during application to a Real Estate Education Program. Applicants must use their full legal name, as required by RECO for registration as a salesperson or broker when applying to a Real Estate Education Program. A non-refundable $75 application fee will apply for all applicants.

To qualify for admission to the Real Estate Salesperson Program, an applicant must have obtained a Canadian secondary school diploma or GED certificate. Applicants that do not have a Canadian secondary school diploma or GED Certificate may provide acceptable equivalency credentials. Click to see a list of acceptable equivalency credentials

Alternatively, the Real Estate Education Program Office offers a Salesperson Program Admission Exam to applicants without a secondary school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of the Salesperson Program Admissions Exam is an acceptable equivalent for admission to the Real Estate Salesperson Program. Potential applicants should register for and successfully complete this exam before applying to the Real Estate Salesperson Program. Learners will be required to upload proof of successful completion of the Salesperson Program Admission Exam. Information and Registration
